What I like about this "improvement" is the possibility to get the three starter Pokémon from Kanto meet certain requirements (which may see them in the Extra information Yellow), a more than tempting for any coach. Besides getting Pidgeotto Caterpie and early in the game at good levels and the initial Pikachu, as I said before, the game almost forces us to have exactly the same team of Ash.
As also mentioned above, the main difference is graphics, as well as color, sprites of the 151 creatures that, beyond being more faithful to the original style are quite rare.
Some curious and interesting events make it stand out over Red / Blue , as the locations certain Pokémon (Mankey at the beginning of the game was something that surprised me), a change of characters and the unique appearance and star of Team Rocket, more specifically, Jessie and James, who appear more than once in the game, Curiously, use a Meowth to fight.
